Evening Prayer – 1 June 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

Lord, on a day when the preservation of your creation

Is a matter of collateral damage and no real purpose

Your heart must surely be grieved as is mine

You call us to preserve, protect, and be good stewards

You do not call us to pervert and destroy 

As I looked upon the young owls in their nest

Mama and Papa watching over and caring for them 

Help us, dear Lord, to be the stewards you call us to be

Not to destroy for selfish interests 

But to preserve, protect, and defend

Lord, hear the cry of your creation

Lord, hear the cry of your children who seek to be good stewards 

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra

Grant Us Peace On Earth
