Evening Prayer – 10 May 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

While we enjoy fellowship tonight

Sisters and Brothers are in harms way

The uniform they wear comes with a heavy burden 

Military, Law Enforcement, Emergency & First Responders

For me, one uniform has been retired

Yet another still is worn

Remind us all, Lord, of the duty we have

To do justice

To love mercy/kindness

To walk humbly with you

To love you with our entire being

To love our neighbors, even our enemies

To pray for those who persecute us

To stand beside and support the widows and orphans

To stand beside and support the invisible ones

To live, love, and work for your peace

Lord in your mercy, hear this prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra

Grant Us Peace on Earth
