Evening Prayer – 8 May 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

In the midst of the chaos of scheduling and meetings

In the midst of deadlines and checklists

In the midst of it all, Lord, I sought your presence 

It was an evening phone call from my sister and brother in uniform

Hey Chappy, just checking in to see how you are doing

What a blessing and gift that call was

We had walked together through a difficult situation

Lord, in the chaos of last weekend, you were present

In the midst of the grief and pain, you are present still

As I used to pray long ago when I wore the uniform

Lord Guard Us

Lord Guide Us

Lord, may your healing balm be present 

May those who mourn be comforted 

In your mercy, hear our humble prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
