Evening Prayer – 3 May 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

Tonight I heard about fear

Fear due to racist and xenophobic policies

It was overwhelming to me as a white male with privilege 

I can’t imagine how it must feel on a daily basis

Lord, help me to stand against such policies

Lord, help me to be an advocate for those living in fear

Lord, as your Son stood for the oppressed against the Empire

So may we have the courage and compassion to do the same

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra

Grant Us Peace on Earth
