Evening Prayer – 22 March 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

Tonight as I reflected on our worship

Tonight as I reflected on sayings of the Desert Ammas and Abbas 

These thoughts came to mind

Discernment 

What is too much

What is not enough
When does a desire become an obsession 
When can piety become an idol
How do we balance quiet and community
How do we root ourselves where we are
I am the vine, you are the branches 
Help me, Lord, to stay rooted and grounded in you
And in you, may I find that peace beyond all understanding 
Dona Nobis Pacem 
Grant Us Peace
