Evening Prayer – 1 March 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

On this Ash Wednesday we remember

Our Lord went into the Wilderness

He saw sunsets and sunrises

He saw God’s wondrous creation

Yes, he also suffered and was tempted

Yet he also knew God’s comforting presence 

Overcoming temptation He showed us the way 

As we walk this pathway may we know

The comfort of Your presence

The reassurance of Your love

The constancy of Your mercy

Lord, as we walk this road with you

Be our guardian, guide, and friend

Lord, in your mercy, hear this prayer 

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra 

Grant Us Peace on Earth
