Evening Prayer – 2 January 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

As I ponder the duck who appears to be pondering me

As I watch their community interact

Some are pleasant while some are ornery 

Some biting and snipping and snapping

Yet when they take flight they fly as one

This is my prayer for ALL of your children, Lord

May we fly as one with mutual love and respect

May we look to the needs of others, even before our own

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra 

Grant Us Peace on Earth
