Evening Prayer – 16 December 2016

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

The snow falls as we settle in for the night

As our concrete “pets” remind us

Some have no choice but to find some shelter

Some shelter from the elements 

Some shelter from harsh conditions 

We think of those who suffer

We pray for those who mourn

We hold in our hearts victims of violence 

We lift up those who struggle in the midst of warfare

Lord, I also pray for those who are fearful this night

Those who are threatened and bullied

May all these we hold find your peace

May we be instruments of your peace

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra 

Grant Us Peace on Earth
