Evening Prayer – 13 December 2016

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

Your promise from Psalm 121 rings true

After a day of paperwork and planning

A cancelled meeting offered an opportunity

Sabbath was calling as I lifted up my eyes

Even though it was not a long time

Time spent enjoying the beauty of your creation 

A sense of calm, peace, healing

Batteries recharged

Thank you, Lord, for that opportunity 

Thank you, Lord, for that gift

Lord, in your mercy, hear this prayer 

A prayer on behalf of those who can’t take such Sabbath breaks

A prayer on behalf of those surrounded by hatred, violence, warfare, and fear

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
