Evening Prayer – 2 December 2016
The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow
As we walked to town tonight
The lights were glowing beautifully
A reminder of Your light that shines in the darkness
Outside Erik Stensland’s studio these words with a crèche
“Once we have seen Him in a stable, we can never be sure where He will appear or to what lengths he will go or to what ludicrous depths of self-humiliation He will descend in His wild pursuit of men.” — Frederick Buechner in “The Hungering Dark”
Thank you, Erick, for the reminder
Thank you for the reminder of God’s wonder you share through your photography
As the days grow shorter
As the nights grow longer
Let your light sine in the darkness
Let it shine and the darkness not overcome it!
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer
Dona Nobis Pacem
Grant Us Peace
A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre…
Oh how lovely! I am a huge Frederick Buechner fan, and those lively illuminated angels look like they are dancing. Blessings to you, Michael! 😊
Thanks, Joy!
