Evening Prayer – 19 October 2016

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

As we prepare for the morrow, we review today

Moments of hope and grace and love

Moments of concern and, yes, hopelessness

My heart breaks for our nation and world

So divided and hate/fear filled

Lord, your heart must surely break

Your children, ALL created in your image

My ceaseless prayer lifts up to you

In hope and faith I lift this prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace

May YOUR peace descend upon us

May YOUR peace transform this madness

Again my heart cries out to you, O Lord
