The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

A full day of work and writing

Competing tasks and preparing for an upcoming course

A hospital call and reaching out to another family in crisis

In the midst of it all, you reach out, Lord

You reach out with this reminder

Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age

Lord, be with those who watch and wait and weep this night

May they know your comfort and presence

Lord, in your mercy, hear this prayer
