Evening Prayer – 23 August 2016

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker 

As we settle in for the evening

My heart turns to the world you created and love, O Lord 

In this country, hatred, fear, and division grow

In this world, violence seems to offer the answer

Yet, Lord, isn’t that contrary to your decree?

Love you… Love neighbor…

I look at this river flowing and think of Amos

Let justice roll down like waters, righteousness like an everflowing stream

Hatred, Mysogony, Bigotry do not fit into your plan, Lord

Love, Forgiveness, Reconcilliation, Wholeness, Peace… They do

With all of this in my heart, O Lord

I lift my humble prayer 

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace 

A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre…
