Evening Prayer – 18 August 2016

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker 

As we walked the lake this evening 

I was reminded of the wonder of God’s creation

The Raven and the Mallard seemed to commune together

Each with a different perspective

Each with different gifts

Yet each wondrously made by the Creator

We are each created unique in our ways

Yet we are each created Imago Dei… In the Image of God

Why can’t we seem to remember and honor that?

On the anniversary of my natal day, I ask

Lord, send your Spirit to refresh and renew

Send your Spirit to challenge and to transform

May we remember that we are all Imagi Dei

May we love our neighbors as we love ourselves

May we love you with our entire being

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer 

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace
