Evening Prayer – 9 August 2016

Augustine said “my heart is restless until it finds its rest in God”…

Looking at this Rocky Mountain Mule Deer I sense that rest

As the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

I rest in God and lift up this Evening Prayer

In a world filled with sorrow, heartache, and pain

In a world where violence is seen as the answer

In such a world, it can be a struggle

A struggle to find hope

A struggle to find cooperation

A struggle to find love

A struggle to find peace

Break into this world, Lord

Break in with your mercy

Break in with your kindness

Break in with your love

Break in with your peace

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer 

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace
