Evening Prayer – 17 May 2016

The sun has long ago set

The Vesper Lights are lit

As I contemplate their glowing

You reminds me, Lord, of your presence

Like light that dispels the darkness

Your love casts out hatred and fear

For one I know who is dealing with cancer

An evil disease that is wracking a dear friends body

I lift up a prayer for your healing

I lift up a prayer for your presence

I lift up a prayer for your grace

Circle this dear one and her extended family

Keep fear and hopelessness out

Bring your love, grace, mercy, and peace within

On this night as the firelight flickers

Warm us, Lord, in your loving presence

In the light of this fire, Lord, hear our prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
