Evening Prayer – 14 April 2016
After a long and full day of travel from New Orleans to Estes Park and a doctor’s appointment for me and rest for Denise, we are settled in. Pixie is happy to be home as well!
Tonight, O Lord, the Vesper Lights flicker
Yet I think of the people on the streets
Winfield and countless others in New Orleans
James and so many in Mobile
The nameless ones on the streets of Boulder
The streets of Denver and Fort Collins
Even the streets of Estes Park
I don’t know their names, Lord
Yet you know each one as a precious child
Your precious child made in your image
Society chooses to look the other way
Society says they are all scammers
While some may be, so many are not
They are the tired and poor
They are the ones with psychological issues
They are the invisible ones
Lord, may I see in their faces Imago Dei
Lord, may I see them as my sisters and brothers
I thank you for those like my dear Dianne
For those like my dear friend Tim
For all the care givers…
Who know them by name
May we never forget! We are all your children!
For them I lift this prayer tonight
Dona Nobis Pacem
Grant Us Peace
A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre as he also prays for healing for his sweet wife ❤️❤️
Welcome home, friends.
