Evening Prayer – 21 February 2016

An early prayer tonight after a full day of ministry at Presbyterian Community Church of the Rockies and a delightful Vespers service with the residents of Prospect Park Living Center (nursing home). Now hanging out and waiting to pick up a good friend from the Airport to bring him home to his menagerie of cats and dogs along with his dear wife who is in the hospital.
As I look to the nearly full moon tonight, O Lord
I am reminded of your light shining in the midst of the darkness
Your light and your perfect love cast out all darkness
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer
Prayers for those who are cursing in self-made darkness
Prayers for those who are victims of those who are cursing in that same darkness
Prayers for those who are immersed in hatred, ignorance, bigotry, and fear
Prayers for those who stand against this darkness and shine the light of your love
On this night, as the Vesper Lights are lit, I lift my Evening Prayer
Lord, in your mercy, hear my prayer
Dona Nobis Pacem
Grant Us Peace
A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre as he seeks to keep alive the light of Christ’s love in the midst of this present darkness…
