Evening Prayer – 9 February 2016

  
Tonight as the Vesper Lights are lit

As the evening falls and fellowship is over

For fellowship over pancakes

For the opportunity to raise money to help the poor and the hungry

We give you thanks, O God

Tomorrow we begin our Lenten journey

As ashes are placed on our foreheads

As we confess our failure to follow you

We begin a time of introspection

We begin a time of renewal

On this journey we are about to begin

Lord, guard us and guide us

Help us to live our lives fully

To do justice

To love mercy

To walk humbly with you

To love you with our entire being

To love ALL of our neighbors as ourselves

Lord, on this night especially, hear our prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
