Evening Prayer – 4 February 2016

  
Tomorrow is the Feast of St Agatha, Virgin and Martyr. Not only is she the Patron Saint of St Agatha’s Episcopal Church in DeFuniak Springs, a church near and dear to Denise and my heart, she is also the patron saint of those who suffer from Breast Cancer (my mom is a survivor as are my dear friends, Lisa & Kris). One of my flock has been recently diagnosed as well. 

Lord, the sun has long ago set

The Vesper Lights flicker in the firelight

Thankful for opportunities to share your love and grace this day

I come before you tonight with a full heart

Thankful for ministry in the hospital

Thankful for those who selflessly care for others

Yet also carrying the suffering of those I love

Those who have called me to be their shepherd 

Hear my prayer as I lift it to you on their behalf

Dona Nobis Pacem 

In all things, Grant Us Peace
