Evening Prayer – 1 February 2016
After a long day of airports, flying, and driving up into the mountains last night, we crawled into bed at just after midnight… My prayer was a deep groan that didn’t make it into the blog. Today has been a day of funeral planning, Lenten Midweek Worship planning, Presbytery meeting planning as the host church, and shoveling snow (been a few years since I have done that!).
On this Brigid’s day, we light the candles
The Vesper Lights, like the fireplace, dance
My heart is full, O Lord
Thankful for the experience of the past week
Thankful for this beautiful place we call home
Thankful for the privilege of walking with families through the Valley of the Shadows
Thankful for the opportunty to serve
Yet I also think of those in need
In need of shelter from the storm
In need of healing
In need of encouragement and hope
In need of your grace, mercy, and peace
For this world, I lift my humble prayer
Dona Nobis Pacem
Grant Us Peace
A wee prayer from the reflective heart of your Padre…
