Evening Prayer – 13 January 2016
Our Evening Prayers lift like incense
Spending the evening listening to stories
Stories of suffering, depression, mental health issues, suicide
Hearing about the pain of so many
Thankful for your presence in the midst of suffering
As I remember those I knew
As I remember those I laid to rest
As I remember the families left to mourn
As I remember those who survived
Lord, hear my prayer lifted on their behalf

A wee prayer from the heart of your reflective Padre… Thinking back on years of ministry and the costs associated…

Thank you for this. I envy your faith. I wish I knew where to find some. But even so what you wrote meant something to me. So again, thank you and good evening to you.
It sure isn’t easy… And reading your most recent blog, you know that first hand. Tonight’s presentation brought back the memory of a Sergeant and Chaplain Assistant I had worked closely with in Nevada. He took his life in November 2004. A month before the speaker’s brother took his life.
As a pastor and chaplain I have walked through the Valley of the Shadow of Death with others and as the one who mourns. My heart goes out to you… My prayer is that you and your family will find comfort and strength… And encouragement in this journey. My prayers are with you.
