In a time where fear seems to reign

In a time where hatred and bigotry flourish

At a time like this, Lord

We need simple reminders of your presence

In the wonder of your creation 

In the light of the evening fire

As the Vesper lights are lit

Our prayers are lifted to you, Lord

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

For light that overcomes darkness

For love that overcomes fear

For kinship that overcomes bigotry

For your presence in our midst

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
