Evening Prayer – 8 December 2015

  
This night, O Lord, as we light the Vesper lights

With trouble and turmoil at home and abroad

With hatred, venom, and ignorance being spewed

With fear, prejudice, and paranoia being pandered to

It is difficult to see light in this darkness

Yet the light of your love still shines

It shines brighter than any darkness the world can project

With this hope and your Advent promise, O Lord

We light the candle of hope

We light the candle of love

We light the candle of peace

We light the candle of joy

May this light dispel the darkness

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem

A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre as he looks for light in this present darkness
