Advent Reflections: Peace

This advent I have decided to focus on peace.  I choose the word peace a couple of months ago but after the events of the past week, it seems even more appropriate.  In the past week there have been three mass shootings in the US, and down on my beloved gulf coast a poor Waffle House waitress in Biloxi was shot in the head  on Thanksgiving because she asked a customer to abide by their no smoking policy.  The list in our country goes on and on even before we look at the endless list of violent actions around the world. 

The first thing I did was to look up all of the passages with the word “peace” in the Bible (NIV).  There were 249.  I read through them to see if I could find any kind of theme or definition I could glean…
