Evening Prayer – 17 November 2015

Tonight, Lord, we come before you

With questions that we pray will be answered

Seeking your presence in the midst of chaos and violence in the world

When I look upon peaceful and beautiful scenes

I want to remain in your grace-filled presence

Yet Lord, you call us to live and work in this messy world

You call us to pray, even when we don’t have words to share

Especially at times like this, Lord, speak to our hearts

Speak your words of love… of justice… of mercy… of peace

Show us the way, Lord, to humbly serve you and your creation

Show us the way to love our neighbors… pray for those who persecute us…

Help us, Lord, to see you in the face of a stranger

Help us, Lord, to see you in the face of our enemy

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace

A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre as together we consider the trouble in the world and who God calls us to be in that world…
