Of Sunsets and Life

As the sun lowers into the horizon, a spectacular array of colors dance across the horizon. Yet when the iPhone camera came out, the picture paled in comparison to the original. Try as I might, I was unable to effectively capture the moment. However, the colors and the beauty remain etched in my mind.

A spectacular sunset

Vivid colors paint the sky

Quickly the color will fade

And darkness will descend

As the darkness deepens

Life’s uncertainties creep into memory

With darkness comfort may come

Or fear and pain may appear

Even in the midst of darkness

God’s holy light remains

The sunset will become a sunrise

As a new and glorious day begins

So I thank God for the daily reminders

Of God’s glorious creation

Of God’s love for us

And the reminder from the artist’s pallet

Whether sunrise, sunset or darkness

God’s love never, ever fades
